Education

I am a proud  graduate of Havana Northside High School. After high school I attended, Tallahassee Community College and recieved an AA Degree and transferred to Florida State University. Ultimately, after working in the public sector of state and city government for approximately 15 years, I decided to follow my dream and pursue a degree in education. I returned to school at Tallahassee Community College and received an AS Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Icontinued by pursuing a Bachelors Degree from Flagler College. Currently, I am professionally certified in the areas of Elementary Education (K-6) and Exceptional Student Education with ESOL and Reading Endorsements.   I am extremely excited about working with a superb administration, devoted faculty/staff, dedicated parents/guardians, and all the brilliant students I will have the opportunity to teach.

Summation of Teaching Philosophy

One of my favorite quotes is as follows:  "If I have seen further, it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants."  -Sir Isaac Newton.  Throughout my life, teachers were my giants.  Educators urged me to establish my own enlightenment and develop an everlasting desire to gain knowledge.  Amazed by the power and strength of a devoted teacher, at a young age I yearned to teach.  All students deserve an equal opportunity to learn.  My approach to teaching resembles differentiated instruction, recognizing students' varying background knowledge, readiness, language, and preferences in learning, and varying interests.  All students are capable of learning in their own unique way.  The intent of my instruction is to maximize each student's growth and individual success by meeting each student where he or she is and guiding them in the learning process.
